About Webinar Series

This is an open online academic seminar series for any scholar / student worldwide interested in the issues of development policy. The webinars will be run in English via Zoom and include presentations on theoretical and empirical approaches.

All webinars begin at 17:00 (Tashkent time) every Wednesday. Each webinar lasts for up to 60 minutes, starting with the speaker's presentation of 30 minutes, followed by the next 15-30 minutes of questions from the audience. The questions should be submitted to the moderator online via chat, who will address the questions to the presenter. The webinars will be moderated by Bakhrom Mirkasimov (WIUT) and Kamiljon Akramov (IFPRI).

Participation in the webinars and joining the mailing list can be made via the subscription form below. Subscribers will receive email with an announcement for each webinar to register. Instructions on how to access a webinar will be sent prior to the start of a webinar.

October 7: Risky business: Political stability along the Belt and Road by Karen Jackson (University of Westminster)

10. 150 150 Karen JacksokDr. Karen Jackson is an Associate Professor in Economics and Assistant Head of School - Organisations, Economy and Society, and Senior Regional Coordinator for Westminster Business School, University of Westminster, London. Dr. Jackson has previously held positions at the University of Bradford (Head of Economics, China and East Asia Development Director and Senior Lecturer in Economics), UK Department for International Development (Economist) and the University of Sussex (Research Officer). Her research interests focus on international trade, finance and development. Dr. Jackson studied at the University of Sussex (DPhil), University of Nottingham (MSc) and University of Kent (BA). She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

The webinar was moderated by Bakhrom Mirkasimov (WIUT) and discussed by Kamiljon Akramov (IFPRI).
